Special Event Volunteers
Are you interested in helping out for just one morning or afternoon? Special events are a great opportunity for an individual or a group to get involved and be connected with one of Madison's premiere events. Friends of the Zoo hosts a variety of public and private events throughout the year to build community support for the Henry Vilas Zoo.

Halloween at the Zoo
This is one of Madison's signature fall events that continues to provide area families and children with a safe and fun place to enjoy trick or treating and other festivities. This free event is truly for residents from all segments of our community.
Volunteers assist by greeting visitors at the gate, providing directions, helping with event set-up and clean-up, help in the activity tent or with the bounce house, carving pumpkins, or face painting.
Zoo Run Run
Interested in helping out for just one morning? This is a great opportunity for an individual or a group to get involved and be connected with one of Madison's premiere events. The Zoo Run Run is a 5K/10K walk or run benefiting the Henry Vilas Zoo.
Volunteers are essential for the Zoo Run Run, helping with event signage and set-up, pre-registration and packet pick-up, providing course directions and water stops, coordinating the Roo Run Run, greeting visitors, and event clean-up.
